Hello kids! We are eager to finally show you our solar plate project! This project emphasizes the utilization of sunlight to make electricity. We wanted to make something that was good for the Earth and saved energy. Our desire is to fabricate a solar panel powerful enough that will supply the necessary energy for some of our daily tools, such as lights and small gadgets.
We studied how solar panels works to initiate our project. We learned how solar cells from a panel take light energy and convert it into electricity. It got us thinking-what if we could make our own solar cells? We therefore started to tinker with various materials also for testing its performacne in our project.
To start, we experimented with silicon chips. Well-you cut the pieces and set them in a dish. We then moleculelized the silicon and finally spin-coated special chemicals to give a resulting film. Then, we put the plate out in the sun for a couple hours to test it. After we got back, the plate and a tool were checked for how much electricity it had generated. When we did, unfortunately, the experiment wasn't very high energy - not sure how it was broken up to this point.
Next, we decided to reduce the manganese oxide with a different material called copperioxide. We took a plate and put some copper oxide on it, then we heated the plate over hotplate. We then left this plate out in the sun to dry for a couple of hours, just like last time. On reexamining the results when we returned, this was checked for electricity sanctioned. Surprisingly, this time impressions were able to give us much more energy! It was a huge win for our project and has us stoked on continuing.
Our fabulous solar plate project began with a little copper oxide.. We are working hard to produce even better solar plates, as we have seen some success. Although we agree that the nature of these concepts makes it difficult to analyze, except for time and effort, but as we are getting indulged in this project more,we indeed see a good result from putting them into something beneficial about is repeatable with every other class.
