Shanghai Huadian Jiading New Town Sewage Treatment Plant 2.5MW distributed photovoltaic power generation project

Overlooking the Xincheng sewage plant located in Waigang Town, Jiading District, rows of uniform photovoltaic panels shine under the hot summer sun, injecting a steady stream of green energy into the sewage treatment operation of the factory.

The project is located in the New City Sewage Company of Chengfa Group. The photovoltaic power generation system is arranged on the sewage treatment facilities of the secondary sedimentation tank and biochemical tank. The project covers an area of about 15,000m2 (about 50m from north to south, about 300m from east to west), and 4134 photovoltaic modules with peak power of 545Wp are installed, with a total installed capacity of 2.253MWp. According to the layout and structure of the original plant area, the project adopts unbonded prestressed technology to connect the system into a whole, jointly resist wind load, ensure the safe operation of photovoltaic modules within the design service life, and effectively use the upper space of the biochemical tank and secondary sedimentation tank of the sewage plant. The component layout density is high, and the damage to the original land topography is small.

This project adopts the mode of "self-use, surplus electricity online", and the photovoltaic power generation system of Xincheng Sewage Company is 100% self-consumption. From October 2022 to June 2023, a total of more than 1.84 million KWH of power generation, saving 603.5 tons of standard coal, reducing carbon emissions by 14,600 tons, reducing sulfur dioxide emissions by 55.2 tons, and reducing nitrogen oxide emissions by 27.6 tons, is conducive to improving the energy structure and increasing the proportion of renewable energy. At the same time, the unit price of photovoltaic power generation is also lower than that of thermal power generation, and the electricity cost of the plant can be saved by 18% compared with the original, effectively reducing the burden of sewage treatment. Practice has proved that the new mode of operation of "photovoltaic + water" is effective, the effect of energy saving and emission reduction is remarkable, and the economic and social benefits of the enterprise are achieved, which lays a solid foundation for the New City sewage Company to steadily move towards the "3060" double carbon goal.
